Magnificently
done! Take a step back in time in the fully renovated 1899 home.
From the beauty of its leaded cut glass windows and the restored
hardwood floors. This home features 3 floors of finished
living space; each floor having 1500 sq. ft. of room.
The basement was remodeled in 2006. A large bedroom with walk in
closet and another nice size bedroom (great for guest). The
bathroom/laundry room combination is of ample size with lots of
ceramic tile work and a glass block wall to separate the two. There
is also a store room. All the rooms in the basement have large
windows. There is an entrance/exit to the outside.
The main floor features a large entryway with its restored open
staircase, original light fixture, porcelain tiled floor, leaded cut
glass windows, a bench/storage seat and the original glass front
door and decorative screen door leading out onto the covered front
porch.
The formal dining room has a beautifully restored hardwood floor,
patterned in oak and pine wood. An antique light fixture is sure to
get your attention. The room now has a bay window for extra sun
light.
Wow, what a kitchen! It has custom made oak cabinets which feature
wanes coating fronts with replica antique black/gold drawer pulls
and antique replica black glass pull knobs. The cabinets are richly
stained in a medium walnut and a touch of mahogany to give them the
aged look. The countertop is a dark charcoal Corian, holding an
antique porcelain kitchen sink. The ceiling has been covered with
antique replica tin molding trim pattern style paper with the
decorative antique style seven inch slated wall ceiling molding
trim. Two cedar beams run through the ceiling; great for hanging
antiques and baskets! The kitchen features a patterned oak hardwood
floor with dark charcoal ceramic tile in front of the sliding doors
that lead to the back deck. Appliances
are the kitchen's main attraction. All are stainless steel. The
dishwasher is a GE Profile, the refrigerator is an Artica
side-by-side, a GE Advantium Convection Range/Microwave and last but
not least, the commercial Viking range with its four gas burners and
a griddle in the middle. It is truly a wonderful piece of cooking
equipment.
In the formal living room the floor has a patterned oak/pine
hardwood as well. It has a large bay window and it has one of the
home's original light fixtures that is still beautifully intact. So
easy to arrange your furniture in this size room. There is a main
sitting room that is complemented with a bronze front fireplace. It
has original pale yellow brick tile encased around it and a lovely
two tiered, beveled mirrored mantel with side pillars. The sitting
room also has one of the homes original and most unique light
fixtures and again oak/pine patterned hardwood flooring. The
doorway to the back stairs (going up) is in the room. There is also
a back sitting room that works well for a cozy little reading room.
The main floor bathroom is just off the back sitting room. The
walls are encased in cedar halfway up and capped off with a chair
rail.
It has an enclosed back porch. New windows and doors installed
(2006).
Upstairs you will find a total of five bedrooms. One room having a
full, private bath and one with a half private bath. There is also
a full shared bath and a laundry room. The bathrooms have ceramic
tiled floors, antique clawed or skirted tubs with shower kits. The
bedrooms all have wide plank wood floors. All the rooms have
ceiling fans. The blue room is decorated in a French blue and
cream. This room has a full private bath. Next is a crimson and
cream quaint little room with its own half bath. Then on to an
Americana decor. It is truly a pleasant room to decorate with all
your red, white and blue. Two front rustic rooms which can be open
to each other creating one big room or they can be closed off to
create two separate rooms These two rooms feature barn board walls
for a rustic look. Another idea is to use the larger room for the
master bedroom and the other side for a dressing room. Several
options on this room.
The attic is also 1500 sq. ft. of possibilities. The unfinished
area with its wide open space would make an awesome loft bedroom.
During the renovation pluming was ran to the attic for the
possibility of a future bathroom.
Renovation of the home included all new wiring, all new water and
sewer lines were put in, duct work for heating and cooling was
installed. The hardwood floors were refinished. The original
woodwork on the main floor was not stripped off; it was repaired
where needed and stained to match in. Then a high gloss varnish was
applied to all the woodwork to ring back the original dark wood
beauty. Three original SOLID BRASS antique light fixtures were
refurbished. First all of them rewired, then all of them cleaned,
polished and a protective clear coat applied. Several other antique
light fixtures were added to the home. They all have new wiring as
well. These fixtures are definitely unique and add a great deal of
architectural beauty to the home. Two large bay windows: one in
the living room and one in the dining room were put in new. A set
of Peachtree brand sliding doors were put in the kitchen and a new
screen /storm door set were put in to the back basement door
entrance/exit. It has an 80 gal. gas water heater that is less then
5 yrs old. The home is cooled by two 5 ton Tempstar units that are
approx. 5 yrs. old. Main floor heating, HE unit (2008), upper floor
heating, HE unit (2009). It was roofed in 2008, new gutter and

in insulation (main floor) and 2x4 complete blown in insulation (2nd
floor), extra steel beams (was not needed) and 6" concrete. The
main floor has plumbing for a 1/2 bath and the upstairs would make a
wonderful apartment. It already has a full bath. Separate entrance
and a side parking spot for renter. 400 amp box in garage(2008).
